Open View

Default shortcut: Ctrl + o
Lists all erection views in the model. Select the view that you want to open.

1 . Click the Open View icon, which is pictured above. The icon can be found on the Layout page > Views/Grids section.

Alternative: Invoke Open View using the Find Tool by searching the command name and clicking the icon, which is pictured above.

2 . The Select One Erection View dialog opens. On it is a list of all erection views that have been created. The name of your current view is selected by default. Double-click the view you want to open or select the view and click the OK button.

Alternative: Press Cancel to end the command and keep your current view open.

  • A direct alternative to Open View is to double-click the name of a straight grid line associated with a view. Doing so will open that view (grid X in the example below). Your selection filter must be set to Default, Legacy Default, or All for this to work.
  • The Select one Erection View window appears when you launch Modeling. Alternatively, you can use the Use as default checkbox to skip the Select one Erection View window and open a particular erection view when you launch Modeling.
  • Toggle the Show for detailing checkbox on the Select One Erection View window to see the erection views that were saved with the For detailing option checked on.
  • Toggle the Show site planning checkbox on the Select One Erection View window to see the erection views that were saved using the SDS2 Basic edition.
